Library
The school library stocks more than 1500 books on a variety of subjects, and new books are added every year. The librarians assist students to pick authors and subjects that best suit their interest, in the process inculcating in them the habit of reading. It also has reading room facilities, and provides newspapers and magazines of international repute. We subscribe to the leading newspapers, journals, magazines and periodicals from around the world that keep our students abreast with national and international events.
The audio-visual section of the resource centre has a range of videos and audio cassettes, CDs and DVDs on a range of subjects. The students have easy and regular access to the films that are used as part of curriculum and can enhance their understanding of the subject.
The library is not only a huge resource centre but also a hub of intellectual activities. Regular storytelling sessions for younger students are conducted in the library.
Reading of library material always supplement the text book knowledge. BGS School provides well stocked library offering a reliable reference, source across the subject range.
A large part of a child's life is spent in the school. However every child gets his/her emotional stability from his parents. It is the parent's attitude that a child absorbs.
A parent must spend some time with their wards. Encourage them to do their work regularly from day one the school commences. Main motive of school is to overcome the fear of the child in his initial years and converting it into joyful experience. Teachers provide a loving and nurturing environment to the students. Our endeavor is ensure that each student is endowed with qualities and traits that are hall mark of every BGS student. Labs
The ultramodern Composite Science Laboratories for Physics, Chemistry & Biology provides a platform for students to nurture the budding scientist within them. These facilities make learning a pleasurable and realistic experience. The very atmosphere of the labs is stimulating and invigorating. For those in primary classes, the school has activity rooms where students get experiential learning opportunities.
Computer Lab
As the world is becoming more globalize and technology is increasing day by day, the school has given ample facilities to its students.
Besides these, there is also lab for Mathematics.
Sports
Every student at SVM undergoes a general fitness programme that includes daily yoga classes. The skill-set of each student is identified and every effort is made to nurture it. The students are given opportunities to excel, and join the school sports team. Apart from organizing inter-school and inter-house competitions, the school takes part in state and national level sports events and hosts marathon and swimming championships too. Our students also excel in marching and athletics.
The campus has provision of courts for basketball, throw ball, hockey, table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton, roller skating, gymnastics, indoor heated swimming pool and facilities for athletics and track events. Many of our students get selected to the state and national teams.
Arts
Every Sunday, each student devotes three hours to hobbies, during which they pursue creative and performing arts, and other non-scholastic activities.
PERFORMING ARTS
Dance
The benefits of dance are many fold. Dance helps to hone physical skills and shape mental abilities. Dance is a very effective form of exercise that impacts almost every part of our body. We encourage students to take up dance in one form or the other. The school lays special emphasis on Indian classical dance forms as we believe they help in bringing out poise, charm and beauty in girls.
Music
we have gifted maestros as part of our team of faculty who not only ignite and kindle but also sustain the musical spark in our students. The children are chosen according to the aptitude and artistic bent and trained in groups in different disciplines and instruments including drums, tabla, dholak, naal, bongo, guitar, sitar, violin, santoor, sarod, xylophone and mandolin, harmonium, Casio synthesizer, piano and banjo. In vocal music, there is option of both Western and Hindustani- classical and light fusion.
The students get an opportunity to showcase their artistic finesse at events like inter-house talent contests, Founder´s Day presentation, inter-school contests and many other events and competitions. The nuances of different musical art forms help the young ladies from across the globe to understand the depth of music. This also helps them bond with each other's culture through the universal language called music.
Art Gallery
The art gallery within the library building provides a platform to our students to showcase their creativity. The four sections showcase artifacts, miniatures, sculptures and paintings to help children gain an insight into artistic expressions. On display are also the artistic pursuits of the students in different mediums.
